Summary:
The City of Tacoma proposed to construct the McCarver Street to Reservation Center rail which would provide approximately 5.2 miles of a new third mainline track and would realign existing mainline, storage and crossover tracks. The proposed project would provide safety and operational improvements for the movement of freight and passenger rail service through the City of Tacoma. The existing rail system in the project area included two mainline tracks and several sections of storage tracks, turnouts and yard trucks used for breaking down trains and classification of cars in building new trains.
