Summary:
The Sammamish Plateau Park-and-Ride Lot project was part of “Sound Moves”, Sound Transit’s 10-year program for regional highcapacity transit. The alternatives and the effects of adopting an extensive system of transit capital facilities and service improvements in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties were identified in the Regional Transit System Plan Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), issued by the Joint Regional Policy Committee in March, 1993. The proposed Lake Sammamish Park-and-Ride Lot consisted of a 320- 360 stall park-and-ride facility west of 228th Avenue SE at the intersection of Issaquah-Pine Lake Road on approximately 6.8 acres of undeveloped land. The project included the extension of Issaquah-Pine Lake Road through the site along the north side of the park-and-ride lot. The project also included frontage improvements along 228th Avenue SE including both a right turn lane southbound onto the extension of Issaquah-Pine Lake Road and a bus turnout adjacent to the park-and-ride lot.
