Arnold Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvement Project

Client: Calaveras County Water District
Service Provided: Air Quality Analysis
Project Description:
We conducted a rigorous air quality assessment for the modernization of the Arnold WWTP, addressing construction-phase emissions from grading, excavation, and equipment operation. Using CalEEMod and project-specific data, we quantified regional pollutants (ROG, NOx, PM10, CO) and designed mitigation strategies tailored to site conditions — including grid-power substitution, upgraded diesel equipment, traffic flow management, and enhanced fugitive dust controls — to minimize emissions during critical construction phases.
Benefits:
Our technically robust analysis provided definitive evidence that emissions would remain well below Calaveras County thresholds, eliminating regulatory obstacles and expediting approvals. The mitigation recommendations allowed the client to move forward with confidence in delivering a high-performing, resilient wastewater facility — benefiting the community with reliable service and demonstrating environmental leadership.
