Colorado River Aqueduct (CRA) Shutdown On-Call Inspection Services

East San Bernardino and Riverside Counties in California

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California was performing routine maintenance on the Colorado River Aqueduct which required planned shut-downs of the water distribution system. The work was conducted in the “low” desert, between Indio and Lake Havasu, Arizona, in Eastern San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

Solution:

Entech Consulting Group provided on-call, on-site electrical and mechanical inspectors to conduct field inspections of the contractors work at the Colorado River Aqueduct (CRA). Entech provided inspection personnel to perform the following services:

  • Review MWD specifications for contractor work;
  • Oversaw contractor installations and repairs;
  • Site compliance or non-compliance to contractor specifications on daily reports;
  • Provide photo documentation to lead field inspector for review and resolution of work issues;
  • Deliver inspection reports, progress reports, status updates, progress payment/additional work/change recommendations;
  • Provide field office correspondence, historical report/data and survey records/data, & as-built drawings;
  • Oversaw refurbishing of head gate drive components, furnishing and installing of new motor drive systems, and associated power and control cables.
