F.E. Weymouth Water Treatment Plant & La Verne Site Improvements – Noise & Vibration

Client: Metropolitan Water District of Southern California
Service Provided: Comprehensive Noise and Vibration Technical Report
Project Description:
We performed a detailed noise and vibration analysis covering six major improvements at the 135-acre Weymouth Plant, including seismic retrofits, laboratory and warehouse expansions, and chemical delivery railroad upgrades. Our analysis incorporated field measurements, construction equipment source levels, predictive modeling for multi-phase construction spanning five years, and assessment of operational noise. We specified technically sound mitigation, such as properly rated temporary barriers, scheduling adjustments, equipment retrofits, and strategic staging plans to maintain acceptable levels at sensitive receptors.
Benefits:
Our study provided Metropolitan with a technically defensible evaluation of impacts, enabling them to refine project phasing, protect adjacent residential and historic structures, and avoid costly delays from community or regulatory challenges. The recommendations strengthened their environmental documentation, supported compliance under CEQA and local ordinances, and demonstrated a commitment to resilient, community-conscious operations — critical for maintaining public trust and operational continuity in a high-profile regional facility.
