SR-125 Toll Road Sound Wall

Date: 11/2003 – 03/2005

Location: San Diego, CA

Summary:

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in partnership with California Ventures proposed building a 9-mile Toll Road extension of Route 125 in Southern San Diego County from the SR 54 freeway to the United States/Mexico border. The SR 125 Toll Road regional freeway network. This project, being developed as a publicprivate partnership, will complete the missing link in San Diego’s third north-south freeway corridor. This highway segment directly connects Otay Mesa with Eastern Chula Vista. Commuters between these two areas now must travel ten miles out of direction on heavily congested city streets. Washington Infrastructure Services led the final design team to carry forward the initial design performed as part of the Final Environmental Impact Report/Statement (FEIR/S) through the 60 percent, 90 percent, 95 percent and 100 percent final design phases. Noise abatement recommendations presented in the previous Final Environmental Impact Report/Statement (FEIR/S) needed to be verified for inclusion into the final design process.
